I have an interesting problem that I'm struggling with.
Running Autocad 2012 on Windows 7 - 64bit and Navisworks Simulate 2014 with hotfix 3 applied.
If I have a drawing file open in AutoCAD it will not open in Simulate, I get an ObjectDBX error warning about the drawing version not being correct. If I close the drawing in AutoCAD it opens fine in Simulate.
Anyone else seeing this issue?
Thank you for your post. There have been a few reports of this behavior. In this case, the error indicates a mixed version for NW. Where NW is a single release product (not multiple years like ACD), and the DWG version is part of the 2010 format (2010-2012 releases), the OE’s needed could be affecting the overall translation of the data from the DWG. To overcome this you can work through in two ways. One, as you have found, close the DWG in ACAD and then view/manipulate as needed within NW. Two, create an NWC from ACAD (NWCOUT command) to then have a native NW file format to use within the NW software, independent from the DWG. Both will and should allow you to restore working order to your software navigation. Please let us know if this helped. Thank you.
