navis 5D simulation

Hello Everyone,

I have to create a VERY SIMPLE, 5D simulation in order to achieve my commitment, I have two ideas.

1

edit my window family revit2012 and embed a unit price.

import the window family into navisworks 2012

create a 4D simulation

use the settings in the timeliner configuration to print the quantities under the date to get the 5D simulation.

Import the window family into Quantity Takeoff 2012, (by the way the installationof Trial Download  does not work!.)

Add the prices in QTO and export the model to navisworks2012.

Create the 4D simulation

use the settings in the timeliner configuration to print the quantities under the date to get the 5D simulation.

Is possible use one of these strategies?

Why I can't found Tutorials about 5D simulation on the web or in the Autodesk pages?

Does anyone have experience in 5D?

Would you help me with clues or tips to achieve my goal?

Unfortunately 5D is not possible in the Navisworks 2012 products unless you fake it by adding extra custom fields in the Timeliner window as you suggested.

So, I've added into MSProject a colum with the prices (Cost).

And I need to know how can I costumize the fields in the Timeliner window?

In the dialog box, Field Selector, I can`t find in the left column (External Field Name) the columns name of my MSProject. As I understand if I 'link' both columns, I should see the prices in the time liner field.

But when I see the column "User 5" (which I rename to Costo1) in the field in the Timliner I only can see the word NOD.

What I'm doing wrong?

using navisworks 2012

microsoft project 2010, but the project was saved in 2003-2007 version.

any help, would be very useful.

I think we'll need to see some files to work out whats going on. Can you upload the NWD file of this with a link to the project file? We will also need a copy of the project file.

We don't support Microsoft Project 2010 in the Navisworks 2012 release so any unexpected occurences could be due to this.

We managed to bring the cost fields in by duplicating the cost in the Cost1 column into Text1 and changing his mapping accordingly.

                          I wanna to make a 5D simulation for low income housing using revit2014 and takeoff programes but I don`t know how to make this using both or how to link between them.

so please could you help me by any trailes or videos to could understand how to make this simulation
