Hi all
As you can see in the attached file.
1.dwg file is created from plant3D 2012 containing a very simple pipeline and insulation is toggled on.
1#.nwc file is a cache file when open the dwg file with Navisworks
1.nwc file is created from Plant 3D 2012 using NWCOUT command.
when we open these two nwc files ,we can see:
In the 1#.nwc file,we can see its properties without insulation display
while in the 1.nwc file,we can see its insulation display without properties.
And we can see file size of 1.nwc is smaller than 1#.nwc file.
So what cause it happen?how we can make nwc or nwd file contains both properties and insulation?
And i want to give some suggestion to Autodesk development team:
if you can add a switch in Navisworks to contron insulation display or not?
thanks and regards.
I have sent a private message to you about this.
Is the issue you are having with 2012 Navisworks and properties not appearing? Or insulation?
Let me expand. I am running AutoCAD Plant 3D 2012 and Navisworks 2012. I can turn on the insulation in AutoCAD and see it fine there. But I cannot see it in Navisworks. One of the suggestions said something about being able to see insulation when they exported the file with the nwcout command. I tried that, but AutoCAD told me that it was an unknown command. So I loaded what I thought was the correct arx file in AutoCAD (nwexport2012.arx) and now it gives me a fatal error when I try to run the nwcout command. When I try to update the export applications in the add or remove feature in Navisworks 64 bit Exporter Plug-ins it gives me an error that says it can't find the file upiconfig.xml, but NavisWorks Simulate seems to work fine (other than not being able to see the insulation). Please help!
The same happen with Graiting, and Rails of Plant3D.
In the Plant3D 2013, with NWCOUT command is posible to create NWC files including properties.
