I have Navisworks Freedom on my desktop pc here at work,, i have ben given a large amount of reference files(drawings) to look at, all from the same zip file. Some of the files end in .dgn, some in .drv, others with .lin, others with .prp and thers with .sld...they all (except the .sld) have the same thing in common...when i attempt to open them i get the message "no plugin xists that will open (file name)...the .sld file says "to open this file, windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it...."
I have opened other drawings from an entirely different set, these had .nwd as an extention.
I wonder if anyone has had any experience with this situation and could possibly enlighten me as to what i can do in order to open any of the file extentions as listed...regards...
freedom can only open up .nwd, .dwf, .dwfx, .w2d files only
they would need to open up those files in navisworks and save them as a .nwd file

And in some cases, Freedom would be inappropriate (e.g. 2D plan drawings). Get Trueview for the DWG files, Design Review for 2D DWF files. The rest sound like a packaged SmartPlant or PDS project. You will need either SmartPlant Review or Navisworks Simulate to view those.
Thank you for your prompt reply, much appeciated, is there a way i can convert these files myself, if not, what do i need to do?
not without navisworks simulate or Smartplant
