Files have turned black

I have opened a NWF file that was functioning perfectly and now some of the appended files have all turned black.

The change that occurred was I opened a '09 Revit file in Revit 2011 and saved out a new NWC. (Previously the original NWC was produced in Revit 2010.) With the new NWC (2011) I saved over the old NWC (2010) and then opened the NWF. Upon doing this half of my subs files turned black.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Go the Presenter tab and delete the ByLayer icon in the materials pallet.

Thanks for your help. This did fix the issue I was having, but I still don't know why it happened! Thanks!

Hi lcbach,

Sounds like an improper conversion of a material. An improper convert probably created a black layer for you. With so many different material types to convert, from so many possibilities, there are certain materials that are not supported or do not convert properly.
