Ok I got a client working in Navisworks and I am working Revit. He send me a DWG's that are horrible. I have Navisworks but rarely use it. I need to export the file into revit so that when I cut a section I am no longer looking at the whole floor of duct work and pipe in wireframe that was created in Navisworks. I have researched for about a month now and no luck finding any solutions. And, drawing (tracing) the ductwork and pipe is getting old. I have been doing this for 15 years and never had this problem before.
Thank you for your post. In this case there is the possible need to clean up the DWG files prior to this addition within the Naviswokrs software. To do this there is a link below on how to clean up the DWG files. I would first suggest cleaning up each of these files as needed. This may also help alleviate any further issues with the functionality and communication between these files formats.

In regards to taking a file from Navisworks and attempting to bring it into another software format, that will be a bit more complicated. After you clean up the DWG files you could take them into Revit directly to then use as needed. If you then needed to move the files (rvt with DWG attached) from Revit to Navisworks you could do so by way of the Navisworks Export (NWC utility).
