DWG files in NW - Elements not selecting properly

I am having an issue in NW2012 with the selection Resolution. I have a DWG plumbing file that when I select a hot water line, all hot water lines are selected (whether they are connected or not). My selection resolution is set to Geometry, so that should not be the issue. When I open the DWG file in autoCAD, the items are seperated out properly. I think my main problem area will be the DWG File Reader options in NW. If i unselect "Merge 3D faces" though, it leaves each pipe segment with many face which will skew my clash detection. Is this a problem with the original file from my sub? Or is it something i can fix in my NW settings? I attached my DWG File Reader Options. THANKS!

Hi danehchristensen

What application created the file?

Would you be able to send an export of all of your options?  To do this open the options editor, click Export, and mark all the top level boxes for the option categories.

What you’ve described can occur due to the collapse on convert setting under Model > Performance in the options. If you set this value to none, does the issue remain?

Would you be able to send a small non-sensitive sample file that demonstrates the behavior?

Thanks for the response,

Im am not sure on what application was used from my subs (it was not revit software). I had them explode the model on their end and now everything loaded in properly. I was just looking to solve the issue in-house. I did change the collapse on convert setting, but that did not work for me.

Thanks!
