Does not switchback to revit from navisworks 2012

Dear Forum,

I did not know if this is a Revit Architecture 2012 problem or Navisworks Manage 2012 Issue.

We have a standalone Revit Architecture 2012 and Navisworks Manage 2012.

I followed the procedure for activating switchback funtion. Start Revit architecture 2012, start switchback from add-ins. Then in navisworks file, I select the object and hit switchback.

This should ideally result in Revit icon blinking and the object being selected in Revit. But it does not work for me. The revit interface has no change.

When my clloegue logs in Windows Users  and trys switchback, it seems to work. For me on the contrary it does not work! there is no error messages or any specific change in Revit interface.

Please Help.

Hi tpydipally,

Does your windows user account have limited privileges or is it an administrator?  Do the privileges of the other user’s account differ?

I was able to reproduce what you described by logging on a machine as a standard windows user.  Changing the account to an administrator then allowed switchback to function.

Hi Guys,

We have been having a similar issue, the switchback works fine as the admin login but not as a regular user. I have upgraded the user to admin on the PC and it still doesn’t work. Any further suggestions around this one?
