Depolyment Issues

Hi,

I have made a depolyment image and we have issues in depolying this across 400 plus users?

Q1. How do you deploy the image to 400 plus users via gpo?

Q2. Is there a msi that i use to deploy via gpo?

Any help on this would be a great help.

I install the software by using a batch file that can be selected

rightmousemenu -> Run As Administrator

the batch file only contains a line that launches the link created by the "create Deployment" wizard.

START /Wait \\Servername\Share\FolderPath\NavisWorksFreedom2014\AdminImage\NavisWorksFreedom2014_32bits.lnk

use no spaces, only underscores in the path and the Deplyment name.

Perhaps you could deploy such a bach file using your tool ?

Also one more question.

Q1 How do i get the image onto a machine which has already has the software installed?

When i try doing this it says Setup on the dialog box and disppears. Then i launch the application again and the new custom image has not been installed.

If you have a machine with the same version (2013 /2014) and flavour (Simualate, Freedom) installed,

but from a manual install or another deployment, you should uninstall first

You can check in a batch file like this

IF EXIST "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Freedom 2012\Roamer.exe" echo Freedom 2012 found

You can launch the uninstall of Freedom 2013 like this

C:
CD "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Freedom 2011\Setup"
IF EXIST Uninstall.exe START /WAIT Uninstall.exe /QB /W /T /P {35738946-FE22-0000-8916-2CE9119C21D5} /R FREEDOM32

I got the syntax from the unisntall string in the registry.

Also what about Manage 2013 and Simulate 2013 uninstall batch files.
