Creating a New Material in Autodesk Rendering 2016

I am in Navisworks 2016 SP2. I am trying to create a new Material in the Autodesk Rendering window and the drop-down list that was previously at the bottom of the window is missing. This button would provide a list of material types to start the creation of the material using the Material Editor. In the 2016 Help documentation it is telling me that it should be there to create a material or maybe the workflow has changed and Help has not been updated. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

This is a case where the workflow has changed and the help hasn't been updated. The intention is that you add a new material by adding an existing material from the material library and then editing it. The change was prompted by the addition of the Autodesk Advanced Material library. These materials can't be classified into the different basic types offered by the old drop down list.

I'm confused, I have followed the method to create a new material by adding an existing one to a custom library but when i try to change the image or even replace it with a color it keeps reverting back to the old one.

Hello PeterGehring13,

If you can reproduce this behavior with one of the sample files, can you include a Screencast video showing the steps you are going through?

(If you can’t reproduce with one of the sample files, then check for differences between the original file and the sample file.)
