CAD Blocks Show Properties in Navis - Inaccessible in AutoCAD

We are stumped by having a number of AutoCAD files, containing Blocks composed of two solids. In AutoCAD there does not appear to be any Xdata, attributes, text, or other data.

Yet in Navis 2013, Selection Tree, Properties palette, there is a rich source of information. Selection said information does take you to the object.

We want access to that information we see in Navis - through the AutoCAD software.

(Or to understand how to access it programmatically)

Tried Xdata, hyperlinks, looking at dotted pairs, attributes, hidden text, - lost so far.

We are not clear as to the authoring software that created the file in question, but someone indicated it might be intergraph. We may never know.

Block attributes can show data in the properties palette, but I've found it a bit quirky.  XDATA/XRecord data will not show up of its own accord, you would need to write some custom plug-in, exporter, or some other means.  Navisworks will natively read object data from certain programs, including CADWorx (just a wild guess at what you are looking at).

More information, including whether these are truly blocks, or groups, or something else, would be helpful.

Sounds to me like Nested Blocks in Acad.  Try opening up in ACAD, pick one of the itmes in question, and edit block in place.....if the solids inside are a block, this will tell you when to try to select it/them.......If it is a nested block, you'll need to explode the 'outer most' one.
