Im having a very difficult time appending a AUTO CAD MEP file (the Mech is being done in CAD) and a Revit MEP (Elec), when I append both files into navis they come in in completly different positions. The Z coordinate seems to be correct, but the X & Y and rotation are completly off. I have tried exporting the Revit arch to ACAD MEP and lining up the Mech to that but that does not work either. I am running out of ideas and nothing I tried will work.
Appreciate any help!
Thank You
Thank you for your post. In this case I would suggest exporting the file sin question, both from the native software (one form AMEP and the other from RMEP) to the NWC format. From AutoCAD based products this would be the NWCOUT command, and from Revit you can access this from the application menu (big R in the top left). Once the files are in a native Navisworks format (NWC), the software should respond more favorably in case there are communications issues between the dwg and rvt files. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Thank you for your post. I am glad to read Revit is fine but am sorry to read the error occurs with ACAD based products. In this case it mentions you uploaded a screen shot, but I do not see this attached to the post. Please repost so we can see it in the community and further diagnose or troubleshoot wherever possible. Thank you.
I'm having the exact same problem. However, I was able to export both the dwg file and the rvt file to nwc files from their native program. Once I had the two nwc files, I appended each file into Navisworks. They imported in two different areas. How can allign these files to create the desired model?
I was able to use the units and transform tool to manually move the dwg/nwc in line with the rvt/nwc. Can Navisworks not recognize the coordinates of 0,0,0 from both CAD and Revit and append the files to same 0,0,0? My files enter NW in different locations yet when I select each file in the selection tree they both read an origin of 0,0,0...
