Animator Speed

I've been working on an animation scene and have had trouble with the lag time it takes from when I capture a key frame or edit an animation set.

I have two .nwc files appended and both files have a lot of information (an entire 5 story building modeled, one architecture nwc file, one structural). Could it be that my computer just can't handle all the information? I have a 64 bit computer that handles Revit smoothly, and all other functions in Navisworks work great. Is there anything I can do/turn on/turn off/modify settings to increase the reaction time of the animator tool?
