4.5 GB RVM file

Is there a limit of how big a model Navisworks can read? IHAC who is trying to read a 4.5 GB RVM (PDMS) file. He is using Navisworks Manage 2014 on a machine with 64 bit Win7 and 16 GB RAM.

Thank you for your help.

Navisworks should be able to handle a model of that size. Unfortunately, it looks like there's a bug in the Navisworks RVM reader which limits the maximum size of a single RVM file to 2GB (I've filed a bug report). If you can split the model into multiple rvms each less than 2GB in size, then you should be able to load the set of RVMs without any problems.

Many PDMS models I've seen come as a set of RVMs so I assume there must be some way of exporting the model in pieces.

When you have a 4,5 gb rvm file you have import many step / mcad file into pdms, maybe it a better idea to export only native pdms objects into your rvm
