Get view height over ground

Dear Community,

I use the .net API to move and rotate the camera viewpoint in navisworks. I navigate though models of buildings with stairs and more levels.

To automatically set the correct eye height of a human with varying height, I need to know the height of the floor/ground under the current viewport, or the other way round, the height of the current viewport above the floor/ground.

Is there a smart way to receive this information?

I thought about something like gitting the coordinates of the closest object along a specific axis (down direction). Would this be possible with the navisworks api? The method should work in real-time.

Many thanks for hints and help!

Stefan

Hi Stephan,

I think Viewpoint.HeightField is what you need if in Grounded mode, or you could hide all objects under the ground before the user navigates the model. I can be wrong with the understanding on your question, if yes, please elaborate the question. Thanks.
