solid mesh

Hi,

Does Nastran in Cad build solid mesh like SIM MECH?

Can I have a section of the model and see the results across the thickness of the model?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

I will get back to you about the meshing.  For now, yes you can review the internal results.  See notes and image below.

1) RMB on the results type you are looking at and select (Edit).

2) Select the (Section View) radio button to activate section viewing.

3) Choose one of the viewing options.

Side Note: You will notice the arrows on the corner of the slice plane.  Grab/drag the arrows to see the internal results throughout the model.

Thanks,

Andy

Dan,

The Tetra meshing is done with Nastran for InCAD and is the only option available for solid meshing.  In SimMech you have the option to use Nastran now to develop the mesh.  The meshing results should be the same if all inputs are the same.

Let me know if that does not answer your question or you are finding inconsistencies with this comparison.

Thanks,

Andy
