Hello all,
I'm new to 3D animation, part of a small team trying to product an 'Indy' 3D strategy title. I've heard good things about WebAnimate but was also considering Motionbuilder. WebAnimate seems to product some high-quality output and has some useful features (auto-retargeting, auto-rigging etc.) but MotionBuilder seems to be waaay more popular.
Can anyone who has used both give a comparison? What are the advantages of Motionbuilder vs. WebAnimate? I don't really want to learn two tools.
Cheers,
Charlie
Hi,
It all depends on the project and your pipeline needs. Motionbuilder allows scripting and hence building
custom pipelines but if you are after retaregting and animation on top of the retargeting, WebAnimate does the job.
Also WebAnimate can be used on every model, not just a human rig in case you are considering this.
