welding multiple verticies

I have a model I want to take into Zbrush.
However when I am in XSI and I have each polygon is separate and merged. The edges and points are not welded. Is there a global way of welding on the verticies? I have tried and it scrambles the model trying to weld the verticies from other polygons. I just need to have the ones that share the same space welded.

Model > Modify > Poly Mesh > Filter Points with a very low value for Distance.
