temporary keep model form

Hello all.

Question: is there a way to temporarily keep the form of my model when I delete the edges in red. These edges in selected are a single loop and done in a retopo program ofc. I would like to delete the edges, and keep the shape of my model (freeze it), then insert my own edge loops and release the freeze and see how it filled out. Is that possible ?

Thank you for reading.

Not really, as those edge loops define the form.  I would suggest looking at the Poly Draw Graphite tools.  It's a powerful feature set for retopo in 3dsmax:

Yes, there is a way you can do this.

Use the [Backspace] key to remove the edge and leave the vertex alone.
