modeling - too many vertex

hey,

i'm pretty new to maya and modeling, and i d'ont know

why this is happening (2 images):

when i move the vertexes points i get double vertexes,

and sometimes it doesn't, i'm a beginner so i'm sure it's something simple.

thanks 🙂

you can select all vertices and do a small merge... "Merge components" Or u can start over since the piece is so small.., you can start with a cube and delete all faces except one or you can start with a plane and rotate into position . Just be careful when extruding sometimes people make extrusions on top of extrusions .

It almost looks like he is looking through an ortho cam and is has a cube there and is only moving one side of the verts.
