Measurements for 3d printing in Maya?

I'm confused about measurements in Maya.

I imported a file and scaled it to 25.4 based on default CM measurements. I cut up and exported to obj. My goal is to have a 10" part at final height.

When I checked it in another program it was 1 inch. I upscaled to 10" in that program, Netfabb, and exported to .obj. I brought that in and found that it shows my measurement at 100" in Maya but still shows 10" in netfabb. I checked in Meshmixer too and it agrees with Netfabb.

Any help is apprecaited as I'm just starting to work on these files and accurate sizing is critical.

Thanks,
Jarrod

hi,

I test in maya and max. there is no same issue between maya and 3ds max.

Could you zip your 10 inch obj file and upload. i'll test it for you!

Thank you Tony,

I apologize for the delay, can I send you a wetransfer file? I'd like to keep the polys in tact and the file is 50Mb. The files are scans so very dense.

I checked the size in netfabb and meshlab and they read 9" but this file reads 230cm.

I'm attaching screen grabs and maybe my units are set up incorrectly.

Thanks very much for the help.

Tony,

I'm still having issues wiht this matter and would appreciate any help you can provide.

As I mentioned, the same model is reading differently in Netfabb and Meshlab it reads correctly and in Maya it reads incorrectly.

Thanks, I'm working with a clint on 3d printing and it's important that they are consistant across all software.

Sorry for the delay. I'm on vacation in the last several days.

Could you up your scene file so I can check it?

Thank you!

Is there a way I can send a 60mb file? I don't want to change the poly count.

Thanks

Upload it to a file sharing service such as DropBox and post the link.
