Hey so I'm having two issues: the big one, is snap-to-grid is constraining me to 0 in the Y axis when I'm in perspective mode. If I mouse past the visible grid, the snapping is released...? Very strange.
One other, much smaller annoyance, is I can't seem to select objects from behind: if their back-faces are facing me, my selection goes through them, unless I marquee over their edge borders. Again, this is a problem I'm experience at home (student/Mac 2016), and not at school (pro/PC 2016).
In regards to your second issue, I had similar selection issues on a Mac recently, and fixed them by deleting my prefs folder and restarting Maya. If you're not sure how to do that, look here.
For all I know, that may fix your first issue also...
