Even spacing between edges

What i am trying to do is evenly space the gap between the edges of the object. As you can see, the gap is wider in some areas and close together in others. Is there a way to create an exact distance for the gap throughout the entire mesh or in between individual objects?

What tool are you using for creating the gaps?

I created curves, then used nurbs to planar. That is how I got those shapes with the gaps.  I'm trying to make the gaps match on both sides and have equal distance from each other.

hmmm... i dont know if could work, but maybe reproject those curves onto sphere , then select each curve and beveling to the spacing you like....bevel could give you even spacing...then delete the polys inbetewen....not sure.
