Hello forum,
I have a bit of a problem, I'm watching some tutorials from Lynda.com and at one point I need to use the bend modifier to make a grip-like thing (forgot how it is called) for a Sword.
Here is how I want it to be:

I have searched on google for it and looked in the Help section about the bend modifier, but I still can't find what I am doing wrong.

I just fixed the problem.
Just restart 3ds max and create another box, then use the taper and the bend modifier and it should work.
I don't know why it does that, maybe a bug?

Not sure if this was the problem but I have had the same issue before and found that I had a vertex selected instead of the whole object when applying the modifier
The object I was using didn't had editable ploy enabled, so i automaticly did the modifier on the whole object.
I fixed it by restarting Max and made the box from scratch. I think it is a bug or something simmulair
