Controls for scaling, rotating, and moving are gone?

I have two computer where the arrows either cannot be seen( rotate - scale) , or are way off the screen ( move) in Maya 2015.

Not sure if this is your problem or not, but perhaps try "Center Pivot" where the arrows are off the screen and for the computers where you can't see them, try re-sizing the pivot...just use the + and - keys.

Try to hit "plus" or "minus" keys aside of Backspace. They are supposed to change the size of transformation handles.
