Changing Y-position of multiple vertices at once?

Hey, everyone.

I'm trying to find a way to zero the Y values of multiple vertices at once.

The long+hard way is to select each vertex and change its y-value to zero via the transform panel. This is unviable given the sheer number of vertices involved.

Two methods i've tried are the following:

Transform panel:
Selecting a group of vertices and then zeroing the y value in the transform panel sets the center point of the group while keeping the individual vertices relative positions.

Snap tools:
I tried to congigure the snap settings to alow me to snap multiple points to the grid in ortho view, but again it snaps the center of the group, so this doesn't work either.

Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this?
Any advice would be appreciated.

In your Transform preferences, there's an option called Collapse Points For Snapping/Absolute Translation. It's also available directly on the Transform menu. If you activate that, then those methods should work.

You can't - so I removed the duplicate for you. Best to avoid them - by not refreshing immediately after submitting a comment. Easiest way is to just click the "permlink of this thread" link at the top of the page.
