cant select anything in Edit Poly

Hello, I'm new to 3ds max so I probably just clicked something wrong but for the life of me idk what it was. Suddenly after extruding out my model's arms I could no longer select or edit any of the vertex, edges, faces, or even select it as an element. When I'm out of edit poly I can move the box around, and when I created new boxes I could select it's edges and what not but still not the original's.i tried closing qnd reopening max and the problem persisted this has happened to me on a few other projects and I still havent figured out what causes it

Not much to go on there. Can you Zip the scene and attach it so we can take a look?

Did you check if they are freezed or not? Freezing allows them to be visible(if show frozen in grey is off) but not selectable.
