Hello,
I ran into a bump while modeling a video game controller. When I go to preview smooth, Maya adds these weird edges that cannot be selected to the face of the model. Anyone know what this is all about?

you got some dirty modeling there, look in close up and double check your geo...maybe extra vertices floating around...keep all quads as much as possible.
