2 subjects in Maya, several questions. Please help.

Hello,

I am trying to make walls like this: http://vimeo.com/9318353

Will use texture images for color and detail. But I really want each stone face in the wall (different shape, some sharp some rounded) to be geometry as low poly as possible. But its important that the basic shapes of the stones be actual geometry due to a need for high quality and close ups. Bump just will not due. And displacement maps can be inconsistent when in a multi software workflow, at least it has been for me.

In short, I need to make tillable wall geometry. Any tuts here that have info I could apply to this need?!?

Found this scripts for Max. Just wanted to check if any of you have seen something similar for Maya. Its pretty sweet and would help me a lot if I can find the same for Maya.
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/sc...lacement-tools please advice.

Also found this tut, looks great but is for max too. Seems like everything outthere is for max and z-brush. Can I do the same thing in MAYA?

Also,
Are there any sites/forums devoted to maya scripts? I have seen that people make them and post them. But I'm curious if there are any sites that have categories devoted to scripts. Free or paid, please post a link if you know of any.
Google is not giving joy on this one. Wrong search words?

There is a program that does that. The topic would be normal maps. http://www.3dtotal.com/index_tutorial_detailed.php?id=1659#.URViaaU701J and www.crazybump.com

Look up lester banks on the internet. I think it is lesterbanks.com he had a bunch of scripts on his site.

I would personally do this in z brush or mudbox. The walls look nicely displaced because they are using a displacement map. you can easily create this look in Z or mud and literally hit a button and it will build the full shader for you with all the maps attached, but yes this can be achieved easily with a displacement map. hope that helps. Just shout if you have any more questions.
