Why does autosave turn off?

It has happened at random, I notice that my Autosave, (set for 15min) is turned off and I have to go to options again and reset it. Has anyone ever ran into this & why? Using MDT6.
Thanks

Wonder if it's like the DIA sisters; CMD, FILE & ATT (if that was their names;
homely bunch anyway)? Gets toggled off by some function then you crash and it
has to be re-set manually?
_ _ _ _

The rest is just for fun...

Being as fond of inflammatory statements as any red blooded boy; if you have
intentions of moving on to a modern, parametric CAD system someday you might
want to wean yourself of the autosave function. That system probably won't have
one.

I normally don't use autosave with any app, but tried running it in MDT (tried
a few times with different versions up thru MDT6) and turned it back off because
I felt very strongly that it was Causing Random Crashes.

I don't know your specific situation. Work off your hardrive and save to the server when needed. Working with a server
can cause a lot of unexpected crashes.
(just an old fashioned suggestion)

Thanks for the reply guys. Thought maybe there was some others who had the problem. Can't find why it turns those "sisters" off.
I would switch to the better software if my customers would. I have already purchased new Inventor, & MDT, but can't save backward. Everything should be universal, but you know how that is.
Thanks again, anyway

I have had this problem for years, since AutoCAD 2004 (currently on 2011 MEP).  I go in to the options, turn it on and set it for 10 minutes.

A couple months later, when AutoCAD crashes, I go to my autosave folder, and the latest sv$ file is a month old.  Then I go to the options, and the automatic save function is unchecked again.  WFT?!

Could it be when Acad crashes, it forgets that option?

Window For Tournaments?

Please, not on this forum.

Don't be hatin' on Tournaments.  LOL, sorry.  That was supposed to be a ...

It's a plausable explanation, but it seems to stop doing that for a long time (months).  It happened to me yesterday, and the latest save was from November.
