MDT no longer sold?

I keep hearing MDT is no longer sold.............

But it is still included with inventor.

I get the impression it is a dead end. Is this someoned personal opinion,
or an actual Autodesk plan?

Bump... You're either having a real hard time duplicating this or you're on
vacation.

I don't have MDT installed on my home machine. (Actually I don't have it on my office machine yet either.)
We are out for a couple of weeks. I will get around to this.
As far as duplicating it - do you really think that would be a problem?

I really hope you don't have a problem with it. I really think you'll have
problem with the edits in IV. Don't think it can be done without rebuilding
the whole thing and it's something I face everyday in the real world. I know
others do to. It's very easily corrected in MDT. In IV you'll be better off
starting over because you're tied into constraints.

I think you need some training in Inventor. Doesn't sound right to me.

You hang in there, Bob!
Your name may very well go down in the books
as the last ever MDT newbie. That has gotta
be worth something. 🙂

While you are waiting you might start reading up on the Frame Generator in Inventor.

I have seen examples of them used in R11. I hope they are better now after
reading discussions of problems with it in IV11. Sounds like it wouldn't be
worth investing the time. Isn't it still constraint driven? How would that
help with an as built?

Do some reading on skeletal modeling as well - very easy and very fast to model up something like your skid. No assembly constraints needed. A rectangle and a couple of lines are all I would need to model your skid. When I get around to it I'll produce an avi, but it is the beginning of the semester and things are a bit hectic around here right now.

Until IV can export a dwg based model with all the drawing sheets in a
single file I can't use it.
My final submittals must be Acad format following layer conventions with
actual model work in a model space / paperspace enviroment.
Isn't it funny how goverment works.
