Command stil active

Could be a setup problem on my computer or..
Every time when I start MDT6 or Acad2002 a second window opens (AutoCAD 2002
today) and if I choose Browse to open an existing drawing, make some changes
to it and then,(after saving or not those changes) I decide to close AutoCAD
window , A warning dialog appears : ! AutoCAD cannot close Drawing1.dwg,
because there is a command still active. Please complete the command and try
again.
Switching to drawing1.dwg ( default opening drawing at the beginning of
AutoCAD session ) shows the Command: prompt
I have to press to cancel some command before I can close the window.
This is just an extra step but I would like to know if it can be eliminated.

Thanks,

Teodor,

This is a known issue with the Today window. The only way to eliminate this
problem is to turn off the Today window by setting the sysvar STARTUPTODAY
=0.
