Select a few polygons and click Connect button in Modeling Toolkit panel. Press ENTER key to finish operation. Now the mesh is unselected. Is it a bug?
We have looked into this internally and you are correct it is a bug, this will be an important one for us to fix and are tracking this internally as issue # MAYA-37516.
