Hi I m an italian student and im learning to use maya but i have a problem during the installation.

Hopefully you got this fixed by this time, but in case anyone else comes across this thread like I did, I was receiving this same error and the cause was one of the .NET 4.0 KB patches failing. I tried installing that directly from MS and it gave me an error with the standalone installer as well.

The solution was to use the uninstall option for .NET framework in the installed programs, and then choosing to repair the installation. It took a minute to repair, and after a restart, I was able to install without any trouble. Hopefully that helps anyone else that might be running into this same issue with that specific error: Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1619

how do you uninstall .net framework an repair it? I am having same problem
