Update Inserted Data with STEP file - Appearance problem

Hello,

Thank for this new release of Publisher 2015.

A/ I have a problem with appearance of part, when I replace a STEP(AP214) file.
All parts appear in grey ??? I lose their appearance. Yet when I open the STEP file the appearance is good.

B/ I try to use the function 'Update all components' in the navigator. But in this case, it create a copy (?) of my assembly with the good appearance ???

In attached file, you can find the result.

If you have an idea how to replace a STEP file and keep the appearance...

Regards

hi nicolas,

Thank you for reporting this issue, for the color of STEP file, It's a known issue, we can;t support it very well.

for your issue after update all component, there is a copy file created, I have log a issue for it.

There is a workaround for the second issue, you can right click on the component you want to update, Source Files-> Check File Status, and then click "Update" icon before the component to update it.

Thank you

Hi Na,

And do you plane to have an hotfix for the color of STEP file ?
Update all color manually it's not acceptable on large assembly, isn't it ?

Have a good day.

Nicolas

Hi nicolas,

The color lost issue is not for all of STEP files, we just support as Inventor, if Inventor keep the color, we will also keep the color, it the color is lost when import in inventor, the color will also lost in publisher.

Thank you

Hi nicolas,

It's my fault, I misunderstand your issue, you said the color is lost after update STEP file, I will discuss with our team to see if this issue is easy to fix.

Thank you for reporting this issue.

Thank you
