Remove or delete components

How do you remove or delete a component from a Publisher document? While creating a document from multiple source components, one model was inadvertently placed in the document twice. It was only discovered later after having saved the Publisher document. I can hide the duplicate component, but I would prefer to delete the extra component.

 

I cannot find any reference in Help or in the marking menu to delete, cut or erase a component.

Currently, the only option is to hide the component.
