Failed to Load File - Unknown Error

I have 8 Publisher files that have apparently gotten corrupt after updating from Inventor.  We performed the update and the update was successful.  We made some minor changes and saved these files.  When we tried to open them the following day, we get an error that says "Failed to Open File - Unknown Error.  Please help!

Before and After datasets have been posted to Autodesk ftp site for evaluation.

Hello,

We are working directly with individual customers until we can get a public fix released, probably in about four weeks. If you need this fix right away, please contact me directly at manjiri.mccoy@autodesk.com.

Hi Victor,

We released a fix in our service pack 1 but later found that there are other workflow that exhibit  this issue. We are actively testing a fix at this time. I would like to get hold of the ipb file that is causing this issue for you. Also if you know of the workflow that caused this issue that would be good to know too. If you need a ftp location to send the files please email me rajkumar.ilanchelian@autodesk.com

Thanks,

Thanks for sending the dataset Victor. I have repaired the file and send it back to you. As I mentioned earlier we are testing a fix for this issue.

Thanks,

I am still having problems with this issue on a new file. Has there been a fix?

The error occurs after making a small change to the Inventor Assembly files the .ipb is using. The Publisher file was saved before the changes were done in Inventor. The Publisher file now fails to load. A weeks worth of work is now down the drain.

I would have attached the files but they are too big to attach.

Hello Victor,

Can you please tell me which version of Publisher you are using? Also do you have all the service packs installed?

I can send you a dropbox account to share the file. Will that be OK?

Have just got same problem on 2013 SP3.

Moreover, IP crashes on Export to DWF of the previous (openable) version of ipb (Autodesk Inventor Publisher has stopped working).

Sometimes it claims to have send some data*  to Microsoft! ... not to Autodesk

Unfortunately files contain IP, thus can't be shared.

Do you have any "user instruction" to folow in order to repair file without sending them out?

Message 14 of 26

Could those dump files be of any value?

Message 15 of 26

Seems like quality decrease of Autodesk software becames critical.

Our company start to seek for altrnative now.

I can't remember any special steps.

IPB file tahat is now can't be opened was just saved.

I mean of course there were some modification to storyboard mada in comparison to previous (health) version of file.

But as soon as my steps were not video-captured I can't say what they exactly were.

For us it looks like we can't open correctly saved file.

May I ask what was the root of the problem in previous releases?

How those files were fixed?
