I believe other software shows a graph of ongoing convergence & an experienced user can look at the out put & have a rough guess as to whether the solution will complete or to kill the analsys to save some time.
If this is possible from the Nastran output file, which line of info is an indication of progress?
Thanks

Andrew,
See the line stating [LOAD LEVEL FOR SUBCASE 1 AT 98.500 PERCENT]? This tells you for the nonlinear analysis that 98.5% of the load was applied to the model. If this percent value remains stagnate or decreases then this is an indication the solution is having problems converging.
FYI - For nonlinear transient the line will read [TIME LEVEL FOR SUBCASE (#) AT (###) PERCENT]
You can also find these values in the .LOG file. This way you don't need to fight the output window moving on you. 🙂
