Thank you. (Ref Clarify# 1444813 also)

Steps

  1.       Author a tube and pipe component intentionally with a connection point intentionally pointing in the wrong direction
  2.       Publish to the content center
  3.       Start a new assembly and start a new tube and pipe run and route
  4.       Make sure your style includes the newly-published component in the read/write library you’ve authored incorrectly
  5.       Place the component and note the connection point is pointing in the wrong direction when either placing the fitting into a run or using the place component command
  6.       Save the Tube and Pipe assembly
  7.       Place an instance of the component in the assembly outside of the tube and pipe environment from CC
  8.       Open the component and do a save as and close the Tube and Pipe assembly
  9.       Re-author the fitting, change the direction of the connection and save
  10.     Close the file
  11.     Close all files and go to the CC editor
  12.     Navigate to the component RMB, choose “Replace Family Template” and pick the save as file as the new template file
  13.     Repeat steps 5 through 7 and notice the direction (or any other change) is still incorrect and doesn’t honor the re-author

I understand it’s as designed that only a re-publish of the component will work in this situation but it’d save a lot of trouble to simply be able to use the replace family template instead.
