Transparent part in drawing: improvement to implementation

Transparent part in drawing: improvement to implementation

I was very pleased when this idea
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideastation/transparent-part-option-in-drawing/idi-p/3932644

was implemented in Inventor 2016.

However, having used it, I think the implementation could be improved. Below I have sketched 5 different ways of showing 2 overlapping solids. The first 3 have been available for a while, the 4th is the new option in 2016. It basically makes Part A look like a wireframe. This is great unless Part A is much larger than Part B (in which case it is not obvious that B is behind A) or unless A is surrounded by other parts, as in the original Idea, in which case it is not obvious that A is even there. My idea is to implement it as shown in the 'Translucent' option. The hidden lines of Part A come in on the hidden lines layer and the lines of Part B that are hidden behind A come in on (ideally) a different layer again.
