Summarized BOM to Cut a Work Order

We use an Add In created by Charles Bliss years ago called a BOM Extractor.  We use it to generate a summarized BOM to cut a work order to our prototype department.

We create a top level iam that contains all the Assemblies and SubAssemblies that we need built.  The beauty of the Add In is that it will generate a list of all parts that we need to build for that Unit.  The real power is in the fact that if any component is in different sub Assemblies, it will tally up the total for us for that entire top level.  This way we can simply export a list that tells the guys to build these parts, no manual calculation is involved and saves us many hours per work order.

The only thing the Add In is missing is the that it doesn't recognize the "BOM Occurrence" (i.e. Purchased, Weldment, Inseparable, Phantom) so it brings all components across, which is fairly easy to clean up those parts, but still takes time.  (In support of Charles, the BOM occurrence feature was added to Inventor after Charles created the Add In).

MY WISH IS TO ADD THE ABILITY TO CREATE A SUMMARIZED BOM FROM THE ASSEMBLY WHICH ALSO RECOGNIZES THE BOM OCCURRENCE.

I agree, how is this not a standard function.

I have been manually exporting and manipulating excel spreadsheets for 15 years!!!!
