It would be better if user could "select other" by keyboard button (for example Tab button like in Revit). Appearing list is helpfull, but it takes too much time to select.
This would be a fantastic option to have. I really dislike having to use the list. It takes too long to appear when I want it, and gets in the way when I don't want it. The option to hit tab and toggle through possible selections would be perfect.
I was surprised that "Select Other" wasn't listed in the customize keyboard commands list. It seems like an obvious and straightforward addition. I would much rather call for the option than have it appear automatically as it's implemented now.
This idea has been implemented within Autodesk Inventor 2016. Special thanks to the author of this Idea and likewise to everyone who cast your Kudo for it. In Autodesk Inventor 2016 the default shortcut assigned to "select other" is Ctrl+A, however it can be customized to any personal user preference.
