Render to a transparent background

I want to be able to render with no background and save as a tiff or png so that I can then layer it in photoshop.

Hi jamjumpin,

You can currently do this with the PNG file using the Alpha Channel option, see this link:

http://blogs.rand.com/manufacturing/2010/01/inventomizations-image-export-options.html

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Can anybody please tell me where is this option for Inventor 2016 because I don't see it? I check Iventor estudio and all save and export options  for PNG and TIFF and I just don't see that on any of the options.

The image that "The_Test" posted is from the File >Export>Image dialog.  The command that is in the blog that Curtis linked to is from the Inventor Studio environment.  When in Studio and you render an image, you can select the .PNG output and select the Alpha channel.

The alpha channel is not available from the File >Export >Image command. Its not a 2016 thing........always been that way.
