pointcloud shape recognision Inventor

I would like to see a feature which could recognise shapes in Pointclouds.

right now there is only an option to import a pointcloud in inventor (Factory Design Suite) If I want to adjust an installation which is scanned by a 3d scanner I need to draw the entire installation from a pointcloud. If shapes could be recognised by the software and could be transformed to a solid, it would save a lot of time.

all geometric data is provided by a 3d scan. if selected several points, it should be able to create a mesh or solid from the points position.

Competitor software already have this feature. plugins for several autodesk software is already available, but not for inventor

This would be a fantastic addition, I have a faro focus 3d scanner and the chance to add some functionality to inventor , similar to rapidform / geomagic designX, would be a huge step in the right direction.

that's what I was thinking, hopefully with some more kudo's they would pick this idea to put it soon in a new inventor release.

This will be a nice addition.

Autodesk is getting more and more into manufacturing and 3D printing.

We are at the point where we need this kind of tool to be able to make better use of the scanned data.
