Patterns & View Reps

Patterns & View Reps

When creating a pattern of an assembly that is on a custom view rep the pattern follows the first assembly with custom view rep as it should but if you then change the pattern number the additional elements are all on master why? its a pattern it should follow the original. If you want individual view reps that's fine but there should be an option on right click on the pattern in the browser for that. Plus if you change the view rep on the original they should all change its a pattern. This is currently no good for configurators as things are showing up that should not be there. This works for LOD so why not view reps?

I find that in Inventor patterns are weak and clumsy. Not only that but they can be frustrating. When clicking a part in asembly window that is part of a pattern, want to find in browser? Can't! you will only find the whole pattern. When working with railings, you have to click the "+" next to the pattern then mouse over each componante in the pattern to find the one you want to replace/change. Why not highlite the componant clicked when using "find in browser" in if it's part of a pattern.

@dan_szymanski Wanted to drop a plug for this one. This is a total showstopper for automation workflows such as configurators, but it seems like it should be relatively low-effort to fix? (I know, famous last words 😉). Inventor already does this properly when you create a pattern, maybe it would be simple to apply the same logic when adding elements to a pattern?
