Fix the white appearance

Fix the white appearance

If you change the appearance of an object to any type of white it shows up as grey in both rendering and IDWs which is incredibly annoying.

People ask why it's grey ont eh drawing and the note says paint white.

Selecting self illumination is really not the answer, I just white to be white.

Other people are having this same problem.

This is definitely a problem.  They don't give this software away and for the money, one expects more than dead silence.  Back when everything was in Styles, all the colors were great.  They weren't necessarily professional, but, you knew what you had, and back then, White was white.  Today, White is silver.  No matter how I mess with the settings, White (255,255, 255) is decidedly NOT white.  And, just clicking on self-illumination and putting the settings down to the absolutely lowest that Inventor will accept still makes it look like the whole object is just a cutout on the screen with no shadows or textures.  I get that AD had to do something to unify the colors and materials across the platforms back in 2013, but, they did not execute this problem very well. No workaround that I've played with is acceptable.  This is definitely a problem.

Dano.
