External thread in Welded assembly

Status: Duplicate
by cgusi on ‎12-12-2012 01:53 PM

It can happen in real life production to build a component as a welded assembly and perform turning operations with external thread. In Inventor this is not possible to replicate it, because the command to do external threads, in the weldment envirenments missing.. Together with the commands extrude, revolve, etc., you can enter the command thread?

Internal and external threads would be good.

I had a work around involving derived components to add threads, it was confusing to anyone downstream as well as to myself six months later.
