I'd like to see a numerical slider in the offset boxes, so you can click the slider and dynamically see what the offset you should be.

Sometimes you need to offset a beam to connect to another beam and you don't know or can't rememebr the dimension.

It would also be good to have a measure command like you do in other areas so you can measure another beam and know what the offset will be by usingthe measure tool.

In regards to snap to, along with the align tool, it would be good if I could choose the faces and they could snap to each other and it automatically enters the offset, then if I want a gap, i can use the slider or enter the value in.

The other thing I want to see is when I'm going through the standards, if I hover over a profile, an image comes up with what the profile looks like.

why should i buy a seperate program if i pay subscription?

First off i am totally for your request and i have the same opinion as you do.. Inventor lacks in the steel/metal  design end of things  (using frame generator and its components ).

SWX is looking REAL GOOD THESE DAYS... know what im sayin ???!!??

secondly i have seen the ASI-Profile as well..

its actually made and distributed in Germany and you have to have your reseller contact them because they dont want every tom **** and harry bothering them... needless to say i asked my supplier about the product months ago and u know what.... they never got back to me.

if you look closely though its just a plug in... i think they used ilogic to create a software within the software and because of the way Inventor uses structual modeling its still time consuming and requires extra procedures when updating changes as not everything changes correctly and or automatically. anyway thats my opinion based on what i have seen on video... i have yet to try the product. and i agree about having to pay for it... its either that or change brands depending on the price. ( unless inventor makes some changes hopefully )

I think if Inventor makes their product not only alike SWX but goes the extra step and incorporates a automatic stair, ladder/cage, and handrail generator within the frame generator, they would open doors to many new customers.

  this just my opinion.

( also SWX cutlist and material table is much more ready to use, and also have you seen the new view box for picking faces during constrainting parts?  I think inventor would be better off with something like that instead of the free move and rotate commands.. sorry i got off topic )
