D = d (Dimensions)
Most of the time when I'm drawing, my cap lock are on. If you type an uppercase D for a dimension value, Inventor doesn't recognize it as a variable. I want Inventor to treat uppercase and lowercase D's the same in dimension dialog boxes.
Hi Tim, it is similar but the other idea involved units and only specifies MM and IN characters. The idea was accepted and didn't mention any across the board change of replacing all uppercase text with lowercase. I would like to keep it simple, only change on a case by case basis. Perhaps someone from Autodesk can give us some insight on what they plan on implementing.
Agreed. It's also similar to the Content center part information all in lowercase. Here our BOM needs to be all uppercase. Frustrating, but I don't want to confuse your post any further. I hope they listen.
I think this is because of the fact that the dimension number is a parameter, which are case sensitive. The "d#" parameters are auto generated as you create unnamed dimensions, as a result it would have to be all or none capitalized, or case sensitivity would have to be removed. Considering that you can't have spaces either, I suspect coding wizardry is to blame.
