Adaptive Option - ON-OFF on New Sketch in Assembly enviroment

Hi, it would be great the ability to choose before creating a Sketch in assembly enviroment if it will be Adaptive or without adaptivity.

Adaptivity is a great tool, but often the errors caused by its abuse are very painful.

On the other side often it's needed to take profit by other parts edges references...and the user gives up afraid for the use of the adaptivity or use it and then remove the references manually.

By default, if you project geometry from one part to another, it will be adaptive.

If you hold the Ctrl key while selecting geometry to be projected, no adaptivity will be established.

The visual option would certainly be more intuitive.

Hi Jerry,

nice tip, i know. But for example it doesn't works choosing directly a face of a parts, moreover it's quite painful eliminate all those Fix constrains. We have so much HUD Head Up Display with Inventor...so why not make it clear and complete?

Very good idea, in addition to this I’d like to see an option for whether you want a work plane created to be adaptive or not when you create a sketch or workplane when editing/creating a part from an assembly.

When editing a part from an assembly if you create a plane by referencing a face of another component it is adaptive.

If you create/edit a part from the assembly environment when you create a new sketch by referencing a face of another component it creates an adaptive plane.

I can switch off cross part geometry projection from the application options but not adaptive planes?

Make available all options to configure what can or cannot be adaptive (associative) from a part or assembly in the application options maybe? Also when projecting geometry between parts (cross part geometry projection) if adaptivity is switched off it would be nice if the projected geometry wasn’t locked or had an option to be unlocked and in an ideal world instead of locking the sketch geometry it just creates basic constraints (perpendicular, parallel, vertical, horizontal) J
